Partnership of Youth and Citizens Society in Action
The Association of Friends and Volunteers of the Society for the Protection of Minors in Thessaloniki, implemented the project titled “Partnership of Youth and Citizens Society in Action” ,Sy.N.Koinonia In Action, as part of the Greek NGO Programme “We are all Citizens and it is funded under the EEA Grants”. The Bodossaki Foundation is the Fund Operator of this Programme.
The project “Sy.N.Koinonia In Action”, launched on May 1st 2015 with Lead Partner the Association of Friends and Volunteers of the Society for the Protection of Minors in Thessaloniki and partners the Society for the Protection of Minors in Thessaloniki (www.epath.gr) and the Development Agency of Eastern Thessaloniki’s Local Authorities, ANATOLIKI s.a. (www.anatoliki.gr) and completed in April 2016.
The project aimed to develop tools to evaluate and disseminate recommendations and best practices, to enhance NGO’s and society of citizens’ effectiveness and efficiency, in the areas of prevention and combat social marginalization of children and youth, of social disadvantaged groups, as well as of young people with delinquent behavior and of youth at risk of delinquency. The implementation of project objective , realized through the development of actions relating to the planning, implementation and evaluation of an Integrated Model of Prevention and addressing of juvenile delinquency, with the participation of youth and Society of citizens.
In addition, the project by promoting a systematic assessment of NGO’s organizational capacity, contributed to the development and the standardization of innovative models of strengthening capacities of NGOs, local and regional partners, experts and volunteers, who work in the areas of prevention and management of juvenile delinquency. Moreover, the project integrated the conditions for the capitalization of civil society’s participation and created the synergies and the channels for the wider dissemination of results, regarding the promotion of strategies for the prevention of juvenile delinquency.
Finally, the project “Sy.N.Koinonia In Action” contributed to the empowerment of social dialogue and initiatives, to combat the phenomena of:
Hate speech, Intolerance and hate crimes, Racism and xenophobia, Homophobia, Violence against children and women .

This project funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway under the EEA Grants Greek NGO Programme “We are all Citizens”. The Bodossaki Foundation is the Fund Operator of this Programme. The Programme aims to strengthen civil society and enhance the contribution of NGOs to social justice, democracy and sustainable development.
About the EEA Grants:
Through the EEA Grants and Norway Grants, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway contribute to reducing social and economic disparities and to strengthening bilateral relations with the beneficiary countries in Europe. The three countries cooperate closely with the EU through the Agreement on the European Economic Area (EEA). For the period 2009-14, the EEA Grants and Norway Grants amount to €1.79 billion. Norway contributes around 97% of the total funding. Grants are available for NGOs, research and academic institutions, and the public and private sectors in the 12 newest EU member states, Greece, Portugal and Spain. There is broad cooperation with donor state entities, and activities may be implemented until 2016. Key areas of support are environmental protection and climate change, research and scholarships, civil society, health and children, gender equality, justice and cultural heritage. About the Bodossaki Foundation:
The Bodossaki Foundation is the Fund Operator of the NGO Programme named “We are all Citizens” in Greece.
